Getting the most out of Codeschool.com

Today I am learning about Sass, a CSS tool, on codeschool.com. I love the polished production style of their interactive tutorials. While completing their courses, I recommend splitting your desktop into two browser windows: one for the video and one for the exercises. The videos are very detailed so it can be frustrating trying to remember everything short term. When you think you’ve gotten the basics down, go back and try the exercises again without the videos. Also, don’t be afraid to use the hints! Some problems aren’t directly explained and you’ll learn by doing.

If you’re going to check out one Codeschool course, make it Discover Dev Tools. Made in partnership with Google, this tutorial series covers the developer tools that come with Chrome. Even if you’re not a developer, these tools are useful for everyone who uses the internet and will change the way you interact with webpages.
